Employment law can be complicated and seemingly impenetrable to most people. It is also subject to almost weekly changes that make it hard to keep up to date with. Employment law linked to diversity is also a sensitive subject as it deals with individual values that may be at odds with the changes in the law.
Our training work in this area is concerned with enabling individuals to understand what the law is and how this impacts upon their work. One of the fundamental aspects to this is the need for change. However, when dealing with with this subject it is not enough to just explain what the law is and how it is changing. It is imperative that delegates are given an opportunity to work through issues relating to their own values on the subject. this enables delegates to explore these in a safe environment. Once this has been achieved the revisions in the law can be outlined and the practical implications for the workplace can be discussed and action plans produced.
